Getting ready for Africa

The clothes are nearly packed and the 10kg limit on our luggage is starting to bite.  By the time I’ve added the various phone, camera, ipod and computer chargers, there isn’t much left for socks…  The trusty North Face  packs have been pressed into use again and since they served us so well on the round the world trip, they should do well in Africa.

We leave on Thursday evening and there’s still a lot to do.  However, after spending a lot of time on Ryanair it’s a pleasure to deal with Virgin for the flights to Johannesburg.  Seats all booked.

Plug sockets are going to be a nightmare.  South Africa and Namibia have some ancient old round pin plugs which were replaced in 1962 in the UK.  I was given a universal plug adapter at a broker event a couple of months ago.  Hope that works.
